Turkey Hunts

With an abundance of ideal habitat and the availability of quality forage foods, current populations of wild turkeys in our area have exploded in the past 10 years. At Oak Valley, we feel it is definitely a great time to be a turkey hunter.

Hunt the Eastern, Rio Grande and Merriam wild turkey on over 30,000 acres of prime habitat nestled into the fertile areas of southeast Kansas, southwest Missouri, northwest Nebraska and southwest New Mexico. With the addition of food plots consisting of corn, soybeans, clover, sorghum, and wheat along with native grasses and forbs, our birds are provided with optimum nutrition through the intake of insects and high protein grains. This makes for large and healthy flocks throughout the year. Many toms exceed 24 lbs. in the spring months.

Hunters can expect to locate turkeys in and around feed fields, along creek bottoms and in the open prairies and pastures. To ensure success and safety, all hunts take place in pre-scouted areas with very limited hunting pressure.
